Rachel Mitchell
Intermediate Teacher
Originally from Chicago, Rachel began her career teaching fourth grade in a public language academy in that city for four years. She moved to Scottsdale in 2014 and began teaching third grade at Lexis.  She returns to Lexis this year where she has looped with her students from third to fourth grade and continues to provide for her students’ academic, social, and  individual needs.  

Rachel completed social thinking training with Michelle Garcia Winner and has established a model classroom for the integration of both social and executive function skills. Rachel has a passion for teaching and believes that all students deserve the best education through differentiation and fun, engaging activities.  

Rachel holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education from Illinois State University where she was on the Dean’s List and was awarded the Kathleen Kenney Teaching Scholarship.  In her free time, Rachel likes to spend time outdoors hiking and swimming. She also enjoys cooking and raising her new Aussiedoodle puppy named Murphy.
