Kevin Kemmerle
PE Coach/Health Wellness Teacher
Kevin, aka “Coach,” teaches physical education and health and wellness to all of the Lexis students.  In addition to teaching classes, Coach Kemmerle coaches the three Lexis Lightning sports teams: basketball, soccer, and flag football.  Kevin has also sponsored several clubs including Cup Stacking and Disc Golf. In addition, he coordinates the school’s annual field day and assists in classrooms on occasion.  Coach Kemmerle is an active member of several Physical Education, Health and Recreation organization and has given numerous presentations at various conventions.  
 
Coach Kemmerle holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Health and Physical Education from the University of Delaware and a Master of Education degree in Adapted Physical Education from the University of Virginia.  Coach Kemmerle was a distinguished student athlete in Cross Country and Track and Field.  Kevin is also the cross country coach at Desert Mountain High School in Scottsdale.  


Prior to coming to Lexis, Kevin worked at Gateway Academy in Scottsdale and had previously taught at Gateway Charter School and Meadowood School in Delaware and in the Albemarle and Nelson County School Districts in Virginia.


Kevin loves most sports and is especially “gifted” in running, soccer, ultimate Frisbee, and pickle ball.  His competitive spirit has earned him many top 3 finishes in his age category in local and national running events.  Kevin is married and enjoys hiking and cooking with his wife, Rachel.
