Kevin Watson
Middle/High School Teacher
Kevin Watson will be teaching social studies and history to middle and high school students during the 2017-18 school year. He has been teaching for over a decade, but previously he worked in the auto industry for a time. Upon arriving in Arizona, Kevin was awarded his Highly Qualified certification in History, and has taught at both the middle school and high school levels for primarily at-risk and behaviorally challenged students. As a member of the Grand Canyon University adjunct history staff, he has both taught and co-designed classes for the College of Arts and Sciences. Kevin has also taught drama at various locations around the Valley to both youth and adults. Kevin’s educational philosophy is that students all possess a preferred methodology for learning and that the educator’s role is to fine-tune instruction in order to best accommodate it.

Kevin holds a B.A. (Summa Cum Laude) in History from the University of Detroit, an M.A. in Late Imperial Russian History from Wayne State University, and is currently working on an article about Cossacks and the media. He holds memberships in several professional organizations, including Phi Alpha Theta.

Kevin is married to his wife Reshma and when not working, is a voice-actor and narrator, cook, traveler and photographer.
