Laura Henry
Assistant Head of School
Laura currently serves as the Assistant Head of School and leads the daily operations of the school.  She came to Lexis in June of 2010, following a mid-life career change and teaching at another private day school for children with special needs.  Over that time, she has continued to grow and improve the operation of the school by providing appropriate student interventions, establishing an assessment screening protocol, creating and modifying Customized Learning Plans and progress monitoring tools, and improving curriculum and progress reporting.  In addition, she provides administrative, marketing and information technology support.

Laura began her career in education following a successful career in the Information Technology industry.  After moving to Scottsdale in 1998 from her home state of Georgia, Laura began her personal Discovery Toys business while raising her children.  During this time, she began teaching in her church school while also serving on their Preschool Board and Children’s Education Committee.  As an active PTO member in the Scottsdale schools, Laura headed the Arts and Education Committee, developed Artist grants and provided Music Memory curriculum and instruction in the classroom.

Laura graduated from the University of Georgia where she majored in Psychology and obtained her Master of Arts in Elementary Education from the University of Phoenix.  She holds an endorsement in Middle School Science.

Laura is the mother of two; a college and high school student.  Her hobbies include tennis, hiking, dance, and music.
