David Girard
Middle/High School Teacher
David Girard joins Lexis as our middle and high school science teacher for the 2017-2018 school year. Mr. Girard has twelve years of educational experience, most of which was teaching overseas. He taught in Asia for four years (Thailand, Hong Kong, South Korea), Saint Thomas, United States Virgin Islands for four years, and continentally in Florida and Arizona. He most recently held the position of Science Curriculum Specialist for Pearson Education, before deciding to return to the classroom.

Mr. Girard holds a BA in Sociology with a minor in Environmental Science from Eckerd College in Saint Petersburg, Florida, and a Master’s Degree in Education Curriculum and Instruction from Florida Southern College in Lakeland, Florida. He possesses an Arizona General Science Teaching Certification for grades 6-12. He spends summers working as a Waterfront Director for some of the most prestigious summer sleepaway camps in the country, and holds a Waster Safety Instructor Certification as well as an American Red Cross Lifeguard Instructor Certification.

Mr. Girard enjoys spending most of his time outdoors in nature. He is an avid hiker and has experienced numerous long distance hikes. His most memorable being just under seven hundred miles, where he spent eight weeks on the Appalachian Trail. David loves riding his motorcycle, exploring new places, relaxing with his dog, and dreaming of white sand beaches.
