Alison Seymour
Middle/High School Teacher
Alison Seymour is joining Lexis as the middle/high school science teacher. She has recently moved from California where for the past 10 years she has taught 7th grade science and created a standards-based forensic science class. Working in the Palos Verdes Unified School District, she has provided leadership for implementing Next Generation Science Standards and continues to be involved with the National Science Teachers Association as a speaker and past board member. Her teaching philosophy is to engage students with science content through interactive experiences and curiosity.

Alison holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Ecology and Evolutionary Biology from the University of Arizona and a Master of Science in Technology Management from the University of Maryland. She also has teaching credentials from both California and Arizona. She has been a Teacher Fellow for Earthwatch, a citizen scientist organization involved in field biology. Alison was honored in 2013 by being selected for the Paul DuHart Hurd award presented by the National Middle Level Science Teacher’s Association for exemplary science teaching performance and leadership.

 Alison was born here in Arizona and has returned to the Valley. She enjoys cooking, traveling and art projects.
