Aimee Purtell
Intermediate/Middle School Teacher
Aimee Purtell comes to Lexis via California, where she was previously a special education teacher with the Palos Verdes Peninsula Unified School District. In addition, Aimee was a substitute teacher in the Los Alamitos Unified School District where she taught in the areas of English/language arts, reading, math, and social studies. During her career in California, Aimee collaborated and co-taught with general education teachers in grades K-8 and became skilled in adapting and modifying the general education curriculum to enable student success, interpreting assessment results, and implementing action plans. Aimee will be teaching math to 6th and 7th grade students and will be co-teaching several technology classes during the 2017-18 school year at Lexis.

Mrs. Purtell received her Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology from St. Mary’s College of California in Moraga, California in 2003 and her Education Specialist Instruction Credential from California State University, Long Beach in May, 2013. She also holds memberships in the National Education Association and the Council for Exceptional Children.

When not at Lexis, Aimee can be found being a mom to one year old Tommy and cheering on her husband as he coaches his soccer teams. As a new Phoenician, Amy is looking forward to exploring Arizona with her family and visiting relatives throughout the United States.
